The story of Andrew and Laís began in September 2022. Even though they lived 4000 miles apart, the Lord uses many ways to fulfill His will. Their connection was strong from the beginning. As Laís is fond of saying, “it was as if we had known each other forever”. After many months of a long-distance relationship and lots of plans, in June 2023 Andrew flew alone to Rio de Janeiro, in the heart of Brazil, to meet the other half of his heart in Brazil. There they were both able to embrace each other’s culture and enjoy precious moments together for the first time of many to come.

In November 2023, Laís embarked on a great adventure, an au pair exchange that would allow the couple to be closer as they prepared to build their future together. On Saturday, May 25, 2024, Andrew “popped the question” to Lais during a peaceful walk in a riverside park. She said, “Yes!” Now they are making plans to be sealed together for eternity in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on November 15, 2024. A reception will follow on November 16, 2024.
